Love for beauty is the common thread. But also commitment, passion, care, dedication and above all the ability to evolve over time and in different situations are the winning values to build, consolidate and plan the future of a business.

After twenty years in the corporate sector, I found myself exploring a world that initially seemed very different: that of wedding planning. However, as I immersed myself in this new path, I discovered that there are surprising similarities between organizing corporate events and planning weddings. Here’s how the skills acquired over years of experience in the corporate sector can be successfully applied to the world of weddings.

1. Detailed Planning: In the corporate world, every event requires impeccable planning: tight deadlines, budgets to stick to, and countless details to coordinate. The same goes for weddings. While weddings are emotional and personal events, the work behind the scenes is very similar to that of a corporate event, where every single aspect, from the venue to the catering, from the suppliers to the timing, must be managed with precision to ensure everything goes according to plan.

2. Supplier Management: Managing suppliers is one of the most challenging tasks in both industries. Whether it’s selecting a caterer, negotiating with a venue, or working with the technical team, the ability to coordinate and communicate with suppliers is essential. In corporate, suppliers are chosen to ensure quality and deadlines; in wedding planning, the same characteristics are essential to achieve the desired result, creating a unique and memorable experience.

3. Creativity Under Stress: Even in corporate, creativity must never be lacking, especially when it comes to solving problems in an innovative way. In wedding planning, the same creativity is required to respond to the personal needs of the spouses, but in a more emotional context. Being able to find original solutions, without ever sacrificing the quality or coherence of the event, is a skill that I have refined in my career in corporate and that today I apply with passion in weddings.

4. The Importance of Communication: In corporate, interpersonal relationships and effective communication are essential to the success of any project. This also applies to weddings, where the ability to listen to the needs of the spouses and their families, to negotiate between the various parties involved and to maintain clear and continuous communication with all parties involved is crucial. Every wedding is a complex project, which requires assertive leadership and impeccable communication.

5. Real-Time Problem Solving: Even in weddings, as in large corporate events, there are always unforeseen events that can arise at the last minute. The ability to remain calm under pressure and to solve problems quickly is a skill that I learned to perfect in corporate, and that in wedding planning proves to be fundamental. Whether it is a sudden change in the schedule or a logistical setback, calm and the ability to find solutions in real time are essential.

6. Customer Orientation: Customer-centric. In corporate, customers (internal and external) are the fulcrum of every decision. The same is true in wedding planning, where attention to the bride and groom, respect for their needs and the creation of a unique and personalized experience are the heart of every wedding. The customer-oriented approach, which I developed in my corporate work, is now the basis on which I build every wedding.

Conclusions: The experience I gained in the corporate world has allowed me to develop a series of transferable skills that I now apply with enthusiasm in wedding planning. Planning, supplier management, problem solving, effective communication and customer orientation are all tools that allow you to successfully manage both corporate events and weddings. Every wedding, just like a corporate event, is a performance that requires attention to detail, creativity and precision. And, as in every great event, it is the final result that leaves its mark.
